Duties & Import Taxes

Last updated: November 15, 2026

🌎 No surprise fees on delivery.

For every international order, we ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) — meaning the import duties, VAT, and taxes for your destination country are calculated at checkout and included in your order total. The carrier will not bill you again when the package arrives.

What's collected at checkout

  • Item price in your currency (where supported).
  • Shipping based on carrier and destination.
  • Import duties based on the product's HS tariff code and country of origin.
  • VAT / GST / consumption tax at your destination country's current rate.
  • Any brokerage or clearance fee the carrier would otherwise pass on to you.

The subtotal, duties, taxes, and shipping are itemized on the final checkout screen and again on your emailed receipt.

How the rate is calculated

Duty and tax rates are pulled from live customs data using the product's declared HS code (harmonized tariff), country of origin, and your ship-to address. Rates are the ones customs would apply if the carrier billed you directly — we don't add a markup on top.

Ranges are informational — your actual amount is calculated at checkout for your exact address and is the amount you pay.

Refunds on returned international orders

If an international order is returned per our Shipping & Returns policy, the item price and any duties/VAT collected on the returned items are refunded. Shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return is due to a defect or our error. If your country's customs does not remit collected VAT for returns, we'll credit the equivalent amount to your original payment method.

Refused deliveries and undeliverable packages

If a package is refused at customs or returned as undeliverable, we'll refund the item price and duties/VAT once the parcel is received back at our facility. Return shipping and any carrier re-export fees are deducted from the refund.

Business & tax-exempt buyers

If you're a business with a valid VAT/GST number, enter it on the checkout page — where supported, VAT will be reverse-charged and removed from the order total. For questions or exemption certificates, email bluehockey3@gmail.com before placing your order.

Frequently asked questions

I refused the delivery at my door — do I get a full refund?

Once the parcel arrives back at our facility, we refund the item price and all duties/VAT that were collected. Original outbound shipping and any carrier re-export or storage fees charged back to us are deducted from the refund. Refunds post to your original payment method within 5–10 business days of receipt.

Customs held my package and is asking me to pay — what do I do?

Because we ship DDP, this should not happen. Do not pay the carrier. Forward the notice and your order number to bluehockey3@gmail.com and we'll clear it with the carrier directly. If you already paid, send us the receipt and we'll reimburse you.

I have a valid VAT / GST number — how do I get the tax removed?

Enter your VAT/GST number in the tax-ID field on the checkout page before paying. Where the destination allows reverse-charge (most of the EU and UK for B2B), VAT will drop to zero on the order summary. If the field isn't available for your country, email us your number and order details within 48 hours of purchase and we'll refund the VAT portion.

Are diplomatic, charitable, or other duty-exempt orders supported?

Yes. Email your exemption certificate (diplomatic mission, registered charity, re-import, etc.) to bluehockey3@gmail.com before placing your order so we can issue a zero-duty checkout link. Post-hoc exemption claims can't always be refunded once customs has cleared the parcel.

I only want to return part of my order — do I get the duties back on those items?

Yes. The refund is prorated: you receive the item price plus the duties and VAT that were collected on the returned items. Shipping and any items you keep are unaffected.

How long do refunds take?

Once we receive the returned or refused parcel, refunds are issued within 3 business days. Your bank or card network typically posts the credit within another 5–10 business days. VAT refunds from certain jurisdictions may take an additional billing cycle — if we haven't been remitted by customs, we still credit you the equivalent amount.

The exchange rate on my card statement doesn't match the checkout total. Why?

Checkout totals are captured in the currency shown when you paid. Your card issuer converts to your home currency using their own daily rate and may add a foreign-transaction fee (~1–3%). That fee is charged by your bank, not by us, and is not refundable through this site.
